CrossFit AZO is a genuine box (gym) committed to giving you the WOD (Workout of the Day), instruction, and atmosphere you would expect from any CrossFit affiliate! From the minute you walk in, we want you to know you are part of something GREAT!

If you are new to CrossFit we encourage you to take a look around and research a bit. The CrossFit main site has a great description of our philosophy and training. CrossFit is inclusive, and infinitely scalable, meaning anyone can do it. Anyone! We are dedicated to taking you to your next level of fitness, no matter where you start from. We have different programs for you, depending on your background, to help assist you in becoming the best CrossFit athlete you can be! CrossFit AZO promotes mastery of safety and technique prior to increasing intensity and load. We also know how important it is to have proper coaching so we are dedicated to making sure you are getting quality!

Website

If you are following the website’s WOD (workout of the day) please know that you may need to scale it to your ability. We realize not everyone can do everything just yet! If you have questions about how to scale a workout please contact us. We'll be happy to send you a modified version to still complete the WOD.

Schedule

We recommend at least two rest days per week. For example you could follow one of the following: 3 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, or: 5 days on, 2 days off throughout the week. You may find there are other ways that work best for you. Our current gym hours will provide WODs, Yoga WODs, Open Gym or a Mobility Specific WOD throughout the week to accommodate the schedule that best suits your training needs. Class Descriptions, Test Out and Assessments

The first thing we will have you do after you contact us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) is to set up a time to come in for your assessment. This will allow us to talk about your past history with exercise, CrossFit, and overall health. After your assessment, we will be able to direct you as to where you should begin with CrossFit AZO. Again we want to ensure your safety before we put you into a loaded/intense setting. We can’t wait to get you started!

Fundamentals

For those of you who are less experienced, or need a review before you test out, the fundamentals program is for you. This will be 4, 1-on-1 sessions with a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Coach, designed specifically to teach you the basic fundamental movements of CrossFit. These sessions will be mostly coaching, and will resemble a typical WOD, but will be tailored (scaled) for each athlete. Once you have completed your 1-on-1 sessions, and proven your mastery of the movements through a test out, you will join the WODs. You will also attend a 4 week session of Olympic Lifting Class.

Test Out

This is for individuals who have been doing CrossFit workouts and are already familiar with the movements. If you have been lifting on your own or working with a trainer for a while and would like to test out, this is an option for you too.

WOD (Workout of the Day)

This is your typical group CrossFit workout done in a coached atmosphere. Movements are always varied, multi-jointed, and done with high intensity. No one leaves until the last person is finished! We all get each other through the workout and celebrate it being done together afterwards! This being said, all loads for individuals will be scaled so that they will accomplish the goal of that day to the best of their ability and roughly all at the same time.

Open Gym

Open gym is semi-supervised training for current matriculated (passed/tested out of fundamentals) athletes to practice and train at their own pace. This is for the athlete with specialized goals (i.e. strength, olympic lifts, upcoming competition), or for athletes looking to make up a missed WOD. This is not for the brand new athlete in need of help with basic CrossFit movements.

Pricing

CrossFit is unique in that every class is fully coached, meaning that you will always have your workout planned out for you. You will essentially have a personal trainer with you from start to finish. From the warm up, to the strength/skill work, to the WOD, to the chocolate milk (bonus work before/after the WOD). A CrossFit Certified Trainer will be with you every step of the way, with instruction, encouragement, and a hearty scream when you hit that PR. We know your money and time are precious commodities; you will not waste either at CrossFit AZO. We have not opened this gym to get rich, only to sustain an elite training facility for greater Kalamazoo, with an awesome community of people. We encourage you to look around at the pricing of other CrossFit affiliates.

  • No Contracts. Ever. If you want to cancel/change your membership, you must notify us one week before the first of the month.

  • Unlimited Single Training Package: $125.00/month
  • Unlimited Couple Training Package: $185.00/month
  • Unlimited Family Training Package (up to 4 members): $235.00/month
  • Unlimited Active Military, Police, Fire, Paramedic, Student Training Package: $95.00/month (with valid student ID)
  • Power/Olympic Lifting Class: $95/month
  • 10 Class Punch card: $110.00
  • CrossFit Personal Training: $75 per hr (Contact for group rates)

Payment

At CrossFit AZO, we use an electronic funds transfer (EFT) system, Wodify, to help us with collecting monthly dues. Wodify is a secure, simple way for our athletes and AZO to worry less about money, and more about training. When you decide CrossFit AZO is for you, whether you move directly into the WOD classes or start Fundamentals, you will set up a Wodify account which will allow your dues to be transferred electronically. Once you complete your account set up, which only takes a few minutes, you will be all set. Your dues will automatically be transferred to AZO on the first day of each month. This will be a recurring transfer, meaning you don't have to do anything when your dues are due! If for any reason you want to change your account status, just let us know at least one week before the first day of the next month. If you joined AZO mid-month, you will be automatically prorated. Please contact a member of the AZO staff with any questions about Wodify we are here to help!

CrossFit AZO Refund Policy

There will be no refunds after the first day of each month, and no refunds for partial months. If you would like to cancel/change your membership, you must notify us in writing via email (This email address is being protected from spambots.
